I was born in Venezuela to Portuguese and Arabic parents. My culinary journey began at 22 when I studied culinary arts in Venezuela, followed by modern cuisine in Spain. Twelve years ago, I moved to Miami, where I started a chocolate business that has been thriving for two decades.
Three years ago, I faced a life-changing car accident that resulted in an arm injury, forcing me to step away from the kitchen. During my recovery, I shifted to consulting services and developed various culinary concepts. One day, while visiting Time Out Market in Chicago, I inquired about opening a pastry shop, but the only available spot was for a burger joint. I presented my concept, 'Gutenburg,' which I had developed during my recovery, and it was immediately embraced. In May 2023, when Time Out Market decided to close, they offered me the opportunity to bring 'Gutenburg' to Chicago.
